When to use this template
Place a short chapter beat between two ideas in an explainer, essay or documentary-style edit. Choose a phrase that names the next section instead of trying to summarize the whole story. The sequence works as a visual transition while your main footage carries the detail.
How to customize the clip
- Apply the preset and replace “clear focus” with a short chapter phrase. Pick the word that best identifies the topic and set it as the focus word.
- Keep the 16:9 canvas for a landscape timeline. Preview the default four-second sequence at four cuts per second alongside the surrounding narration.
- Export and import the clip into your editor. Place it at the chapter boundary and adjust the edit so it does not interrupt a sentence or important visual evidence.
Adjust the rhythm
For a calmer chapter break, try two cuts per second. If the narration moves on before the card ends, shorten the duration in the generator or trim the rendered clip in your editor. The generator does not analyze or automatically synchronize narration.
Compare cut speed and duration, or plan the clip with our explainer storyboard.
Before you export
- The chapter phrase introduces the next section clearly.
- The paper effect cannot be mistaken for a source document.
- The transition works with narration and uses the intended landscape framing.
The paper layouts are simulated design elements, not authentic newspaper articles or evidence for a documentary claim. Use your own sourced material separately when the story relies on real documents. The opaque paper clip covers footage placed beneath it.
Export format depends on browser support: MP4 when available, otherwise WebM. If a file fails, use the export troubleshooting checklist. See the creation and export guide or the CapCut import checklist before moving the clip into your edit.
