About Text Match Cut
Text Match Cut is an online tool for creating a newspaper-style text match cut: one word stays in place while the paper layouts around it change. It makes a short clip for your existing editing timeline.
What the tool does
Enter up to 8 words and 40 characters, choose a focus word, and set the paper style, pace, frame and length. Three paper templates are free to preview and export without an account or watermark. The newspaper designs are simulated; they do not reproduce authentic news articles or imply publisher endorsement.
Optional AI generation creates background art through KIE. Google sign-in is required, and a set of three backgrounds uses 10 credits. New accounts receive 10 welcome credits. The tool draws your text separately so the background generator does not have to spell your words.
Follow the three-step workflow →How export works, and where it can fail
The browser renders the template and records a video targeting 30 fps and 2–8 seconds. Choose 1080×1920, 1080×1080 or 1920×1080. The export panel reports the format your browser supports: MP4 where available, otherwise WebM. Encoding and frame timing depend on your device and available resources. Check the downloaded file in your editor before publishing.
Browser support is determined with MediaRecorder format checks. As MDN explains for MediaRecorder.isTypeSupported(), support for a format does not guarantee successful recording when resources are insufficient.
This is not a complete video editor: there is no video upload, trimming or multitrack timeline. Use your usual editor to combine the exported effect with footage and audio.
Privacy, purchases and support
Template text and video are rendered locally. Account details, generation prompts and billing records have different handling, described in the Privacy Policy. Paid options and checkout status appear in Pricing; check that status before paying. Read the Refund Policy for purchase eligibility and credit returns.
Report product errors or documentation corrections through Contact & Support. Include your browser, output format and the error message; never send passwords or card details.
